About this deal

Fresh, touch spicy and woody with citruses in the opening, more of a "green" fragrance then "blue" - But as it dries down, it has an accord that makes it very mass appealing. The new L`eau majeure d `Issey and the just released L`eau super majeure d `Issey prove the risk which the responsible persons take here. It’s the same coriander and lime combination that is so incredible in Austral Expedition- indeed, these two are the closest relatives in the Miyake lineup. This is not for sure a flanker; it stands on its own and it has nothing to do with the original L'eau D'issey. So disappointed in the performance, might as well pour out the entire bottle and get it over and done with.

That is like with the design of Audi or Bmw, too many drive these marks and give thus to a actually beautiful product the stamp to arbitrarily and make by the Mainstream the product destroy. My girlfriend loved it, says it’s manly and intriguing, and I feel like I smelled 5 different distinct iterations of this scent in only 5 hours. Nice enough, but like just too many other Issey Miyake's veritable army of irrelevant flankers, it straddles too many discordant styles to define itself well. I decided to make a blind purchase and I was more than happy about Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey Bleu Astral. Like a previous reviewer (Golcher) where I sprayed on my arms the fragrance didn't seem to last but I was getting wafts for many hours from either the back of my neck or my chest/t shirt.

Ultimately you end up with a brilliant arrangement of cypress, rosemary and juniper berries being front and center, while citruses, spices, amber, and woods play a supporting role; all perfectly orchestrated in the drydown, resulting in this creatively smooth "masterpiece".

As a child I used to pick the blue berries off of the juniper bushes in my yard and would squeeze them between my fingers because I enjoyed the aroma so much. The opening note of Bleu Astral is very nice, a nice citrus woody note, this quickly subsides into the amberwood, and spices and I can actually detect the presence of the leather but it's a dirty used, earthy leather. This fragrance is not "Blue" in the aquatic sense, or what marketing had made us all expect when presented with a cobalt blue bottle such as this. Very strong and performance beast so don’t overspray unless it’s the colder months and u won’t be inside much. Its a rainy day, feeling solemn for no discernable reason, lost in a wet pine forest with no sunshine.I have no experience with it, so won't be able to compare to the original release, but I'm sure it'll be a watered down reformulation. A trio of rough spicy rosemary, conciliatory balsamic chamomile and bittersweet mugwort opens up a wide space for breathing and listening. Presented in a sophisticated blue glass bottle, Issey Miyake L’eau Bleue D’Issey Pour Homme makes an exciting gift for any friend, relative, or partner.
