About this deal

None of which is to say that Sniper Elite 5 is perfect. While the majority of the levels are excellent, a couple of them are merely 'good'. The weakest is probably Festung Guernsey, which feels too much like a rerun of the first level albeit with some pleasingly alien-looking German fortifications. The plot, meanwhile, is largely disposable, although it doesn't pretend to be complicated, and the secret project Fairburne is tasked with unravelling – Operation Kraken – builds a vaguely interesting threat out of plausible components. The AI offers a decent challenge, especially on harder difficulties. But it's still prone to the odd quirk, like getting caught in a cycle of passive and alert phases. Liberation of the northern town - In the northern part of the map, you must first destroy the barricade and then destroy the enemy Tiger tank, which is more durable than other tanks. Side quest - In mission 8, there is only 1 side quest to complete. You have to disrupt radio communication by sabotaging it near the church.

Infiltrate the U-boat base - This is the main objective of the mission, which forces you to locate a secret passage through the sewers to get to the seemingly inaccessible submarine base. Destroy U-boats and Kraken - You have to destroy submarines in the base - first you have to sabotage 3 smaller U-boats and then destroy the Kraken. Scouring each campaign map in full two-player co-op will inevitably make fraught situations easier, with friends even able to join forces against the elusive Sniper Jager, should they rear their ugly head. Playing a pre-release review copy of Sniper Elite 5, I wasn't able to reliably sample all that it has to offer on the multiplayer front, admittedly, but across four modes – Free-for-all, Team Match, Squad Match, and No Cross (wherein two teams battle at distance, separated by an uncrossable barrier) – it seems there's plenty of fun to be had away from the game's straight-laced Campaign Mode. Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you. Mission 7 (Secret Weapon) - You can find 5 Personal Letters, 5 Classified Documents, 3 Hidden Items, 3 Dead-eye Targets (Stone Eagle) and 3 Workbenches. If this was everything Sniper Elite 5 had to offer, alongside other extant features like multiplayer and cooperative campaign functionality, I'd simply recommend it and call that dinner time. But there's one crucial ingredient I haven't mentioned yet – invasions. Play Sniper Elite 5 online, and there's a chance your game will be gatecrashed by a 'Jager' sniper, controlled by another player. At this point, Sniper Elite 5 switches gear from a methodical stealth sandbox into a thrilling fight for survival. Spy Academy will likely be the level everyone remembers, but it's just one of several tremendously realised locations – the best sandboxes this side of IO's Hitman trilogy. The fourth level, War Factory, takes place in a sprawling industrial complex where Fairburne sabotages towering blast furnaces and sweltering steelworks. The sixth level, Libération, is like half a Call of Duty campaign crammed into one level, a rolling valley filled with French villages guarded by tanks, armoured cars, and counter-snipers. One of the most open-ended levels in the game, Libération provides ample opportunity for sniping, stealth, or blowing the scheiße out of everything with Panzerfausts and anti-tanks guns. The freedom each map offers is fantastic, but there are unfortunately a few too many moments where the illusion is shattered by invisible barricades, whether it's a waist-high wall you can't clamber over--even though it looks the same as the ones you can--or a thin row of bushes that prove impenetrable. The maps aren't linear in any sense of the word, but these barriers can make it feel like you're being guided in a particular direction at times. They also prove frustrating when you're trying to avoid an enemy patrol only to discover that you're trapped on either side of a path by foliage. Map of mission 8 and location description - Our guide contains a map of the ruined Saint Nazaire, which shows important locations in the city and the U-boat base. We have marked the locations of secrets and collectibles on the map. Infiltration and exploration of the factory - We have prepared tips on how to get to the factory (all 3 main paths) and how to act while searching it (e.g. avoiding or destroying the armored vehicle).

Determining the meeting place - Our walkthrough tells you how to get to the upper levels of the fort, how to avoid enemy snipers in the area, and how to find out about the meeting location. To play this game on PS5, your system may need to be updated to the latest system software. Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent. See PlayStation.com/bc for more details. Sniper Elite 5 plays host to some truly sprawling sandboxes that are each intriguing to explore, from the manicured surroundings and opulent insides of the Chateau de Berengar mansion, to the towering cathedral atop a heavily fortified spy academy, down to the bowels of the menacingly molten production areas of a Nazi war factory. Despite the non-stop murdering and inherently heavy WWII themes, there are certainly some entertainingly lighthearted surprises to stumble across along the way, and I particularly enjoyed pausing to observe a group of Nazi spies struggling to learn how to speak like Americans -- before I crept up to assassinate their instructor.

Eavesdropping on the meeting and obtaining data on Kraken - You will learn how to sneak near the meeting point at the top of the cathedral, how to eavesdrop on the meeting without being noticed and how to obtain intel. Taking the stealthy approach is encouraged, but there's nothing stopping you from charging in guns blazing or adopting a chaotic mixture of the two disparate playstyles. This has been the case in the series before, but Sniper Elite 5 is also more willing to give you increased agency in how you complete a level. Recon planes and French resistance fighters will sometimes provide you with intel on potential routes or points of interest within a level. You might find out that a bridge in the west is lightly defended but encounters semi-regular traffic from patrolling vehicles, while a path through the forest in the east is heavily guarded but offers more sneaking opportunities due to the tall grass surrounding the area. Alternatively, you might simply plant mines on the road to destroy any vehicles before they can reach the bridge, or head to the top floor of a house overlooking the forest and snipe each foot soldier from a distance. There are dozens of possibilities no matter how you choose to approach a given situation. Save the game as often as possible. It is easy to make a mistake in the game, e.g. to miss an important shot, alert your opponents or suddenly be targeted by a sniper you didn't notice earlier. You can and should save your game on a few slots - don't rely solely on automatic saves. Tense Adversarial Multiplayer – Customise your character and loadout and earn XP, medals and ribbons as you take on intensely competitive 16 player battles that will really test your sharpshooting skills. If co-op’s more your style, you can team up with up to 3 other players against waves of enemies in Survival mode.

Sniper Elite 5

Infiltrating chateau - Our walkthrough shows how to get to the Chateau, how to properly infiltrate the main mission building and where to find the office. One of the cool things about Sniper Elite 5 is that it's impressively customisable, allowing you to tailor the experience to your tastes. While there are a variety of presets, ranging from Very Easy to Authentic, you can also customise various attributes to your very specific tastes. This means you can, for example, play with demanding bullet ballistics but make stealth a little more straightforward. It's well worth spending a few minutes going through the options and tinkering them to your personal preferences. Don't be ashamed to dial things down if you're getting frustrated, and remember, practice makes perfect. Scout Out the Environment Accurately determine the bullet's flight trajectory for long shots. Firing shots at enemies a few hundred meters away is problematic - you have to take into account the strength of the wind and the bullet drop. All difficulty levels, except Authentic, have a red crosshair thanks to which you will be able to make adjustments before firing a shot. Aiming your crosshair at a Nazi's head before taking a deep breath and pulling the trigger still feels magnificent. There's a gratifying rhythm to lining up your shot, adjusting for distance and wind, and then watching your bullet propel across the map until it collides in the most grisly way imaginable. Sniper Elite 5 has mastered the cinematic bullet camera, with each shot ending in a violent cacophony of broken bones, ruptured organs, and exploding eyeballs, all captured in X-ray vision to reveal the brutal details. Close-range combat with pistols and SMGs is solid by comparison--with enemies crumpling from your shots in a satisfying manner--and you can now switch to a first-person view and aim down sights to achieve slightly greater accuracy. Fairburne still isn't quite as nimble or fluid in his movement as, say, Metal Gear Solid V's Venom Snake, so you will encounter a few awkward moments where you struggle to get into the right position to perform a takedown or mantle over a piece of cover. Evacuation - You will learn how to get to the evacuation zone without being detected by snipers and other enemies.
